Dear Reader,



My name is Yulia Titovets (UCAS number 060302065). I am now applying to the University, course: International Business, Finance and Economics (N0L0). The problem is that this is not really my choice, this is the choice of my father and I had no opportunity to change it earlier because he was against any changes and he wants me to be the great financier. But I can not imagine myself being the economist that is why I have chosen the other course: Management and Leisure (LN 32). This course is very interesting for me because this course combines Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing, Management and knowledge of Leisure. For me it is very important that during this course I will get the knowledge, that will help to make me highly employable and to run my own business.

I am planning to start and run my own business in Russia. I have not decided what kind of business it will be yet, but I would like it to be connected with art and design or leisure and tourism. This is the way I imagine my future life.

The experience I gained working with customers in one of the banks in Moscow during my summer holidays over last three years has given me an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of real business. In my opinion this experience has been one of the turning points in process of making decision about my future profession.

I am very sociable person and I really like to spend time among people. I believe I am persistent worker and active person and I participate wildly in the school’s social and sports programme. My involvement has given me an opportunity to gain experience of organizing social events such as school concerts, plays and other performances. In addition, I have assisted in the management and coordination of various “Discovery Weeks” (school trips to other parts of the world) and school projects within Russia, for example, collaboration with local orphanages. Also, I took part in the UN Model in Moscow as a journalist in autumn 2004.

I am very creative person, keen on photography. My camera is the thing that folows me everyway. I had an exhabition of my photos in Moscow this Winter. I have recieved a lot of favorable comments on my photos.

Also I really like travelling. I usually spend about one quater of the year abroad. For me it is very interesting to meet new people and to get some new knowledge about different countries and their culture. That is one more reason why I would like to study course connected with tourism.

I really like the feeling of being the leader of some projects and believe that I have natural leadership skills, which is why I think it will not be difficult for me to have and run my own business well, but in order to achieve this I need really good educational background.



I am writing all this because I would like to change the course I have chosen at first to the other one, that I prefer. Is it possible?



P.S. I don't know the results of the examination, but I bet they are not so high as it was expected. But I really want to study in the University of Manchester. I will do my best to get the place. Is there anything I can do?
